1. Acceptance

By accessing or using TrueTaken, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement, or use the service with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

2. The current service

TrueTaken v1 audits supported local date evidence, proposes date-based names and Year/Month folders, creates selected copies, and produces audit reports. Processing occurs primarily in the browser.

Current v1 does not rewrite EXIF metadata, move or delete source files, provide cloud photo storage, replace a verified backup, or guarantee compatibility with every media format, Takeout export, browser, device, or photo-library application.

3. Your files and permissions

You retain your rights in files and data you process. You confirm that you have the right to access and process them. You are responsible for choosing the source and destination, reviewing proposed dates, maintaining backups, verifying output, and complying with applicable privacy, copyright, employment, evidentiary, and records-retention requirements.

4. Free use and paid license

The free edition permits local auditing, report download, and export of up to 20 selected copies per export. A valid paid license removes the 20-copy limit in the browser profile where the key is saved for the current product scope.

The license is a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use TrueTaken. It does not transfer ownership of the software or grant a right to resell, sublicense, circumvent activation, operate a competing hosted copy, or interfere with service security. Rights that cannot lawfully be restricted remain unaffected.

5. Payments and refunds

Prices, taxes, currency, and payment-provider terms are shown at checkout. The launch price is $19 and the stated regular price is $29, each as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. The launch price may end without a countdown.

Eligible official-checkout purchases may be requested for refund under the Refund Policy. Mandatory consumer rights in your location are not limited by these terms.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use TrueTaken to violate law or another person's rights; distribute malware; probe or disrupt the service; obtain unauthorized access; falsify an audit for deception; or represent TrueTaken output as forensic proof.

7. Third-party services

Checkout, analytics, browsers, operating systems, Google Takeout, and destination photo applications are controlled by third parties. Their availability, formats, behavior, and terms can change. TrueTaken is not affiliated with Google and is not responsible for third-party services.

8. Updates and availability

We may correct defects, improve matching, change supported formats, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, perpetual compatibility, or lifetime updates unless a checkout term explicitly says so.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, TrueTaken is provided “as is” and “as available.” Date evidence may be absent, misleading, edited, corrupted, or mismatched. A proposed filename or folder is not a warranty that the selected date is correct.

Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, TrueTaken is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses arising from use of the service, including archive changes made outside TrueTaken. For claims that may lawfully be limited, aggregate liability will not exceed the amount paid for the license giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend activation or access for material misuse, attempted circumvention, fraud, or security risk. You may stop using TrueTaken and clear local site data at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and update date will remain available on this page. Material changes will be communicated in a manner appropriate to the service.
