Make every date decision visible
See whether a date came from embedded metadata, a matched Takeout JSON file, the filename, or the file system. Conflicts stay visible.
LOCAL PHOTO DATE AUDIT & COPY ORGANIZER
Before migrating or organizing a photo archive, compare its date evidence locally, including compatible Google Takeout JSON. Create YYYY/MM copies and CSV/JSON reports. Audit free and try up to 20 selected copies per export. Originals and embedded EXIF stay unchanged.
WHY TRUETAKEN
Most tools either trust one date blindly or rewrite metadata immediately. TrueTaken separates inspection from action.
See whether a date came from embedded metadata, a matched Takeout JSON file, the filename, or the file system. Conflicts stay visible.
Create date-named copies in YYYY/MM folders. The source stays where it is, byte-for-byte unchanged.
Receive CSV and JSON reports you can review in a spreadsheet, retain with the archive, or feed into another workflow.
THREE QUIET STEPS
Select a photo folder. Include Google Takeout JSON files when available.
TrueTaken compares available date clues locally and flags disagreements.
Write new copies to a separate destination, with the manifest beside them.
BUILT FOR CAUTION
The full audit appears before any copy is created.
Rows with strong date disagreement are not selected automatically.
The audit runs in your browser. File names and image content are never sent to analytics.
LAUNCH LICENSE
Audits and CSV/JSON reports are free. The $19 personal-use license removes the 20-copy limit per export in the browser profile where you activate it. No subscription. Regular price $29.
The launch price is a one-time payment of US$19. At checkout, the price may be converted to your local currency and taxes may be added based on your location. Please check the final total before paying.
Free: full audit, CSV/JSON reports & up to 20 copies per export
HONEST ANSWERS
No. It reads the source and creates new copies in a separate destination. You should still keep an independent backup.
Not necessarily. Metadata can be missing, edited, or wrong. TrueTaken shows the available evidence and its selection rule; it does not prove a historical capture time.
It can use compatible JSON sidecars when a confident match is available. Missing, ambiguous, and conflicting files are reported instead of silently treated as certain.
No. The current product does not rewrite EXIF metadata; it audits dates and organizes new copies. Photo apps that sort only by embedded EXIF may therefore show a different order.
No photo or filename is uploaded for analysis. License validation sends only the license key to the license provider.
No. The output is an organized working copy. Keep your original archive and a separate verified backup.
